Comodule adds bike recovery service to enhance e-bike security
In response to the increasing prevalence of e-bike theft, Comodule has partnered with FRIS to launch an in-app bike recovery service as part of our smart security solution. This new service targets urban commuters across major European markets, providing enhanced security for bike brands integrating Comodule IoT and offering peace of mind for everyday riders.

E-bike theft is a significant concern that deters many from using these eco-friendly vehicles, particularly in urban areas. As theft rates soar in key markets, insurance companies now require advanced security features, such as trackers, for coverage. Comodule’s security solutions, which includes an IoT device, Companion App, and the new recovery service, meet these demands while adding convenience for bike owners.
Comprehensive Security and Recovery Features
Comodule's Bike Recovery service complements an already robust security bundle that includes:
Tracking features: GPS tracking, automatic Digital Lock, and Movement Alerts.
Anti theft features: Smart Frame Lock, Drivetrain Immobiliser, and Alarm.
Additionally, e-bikes equipped with Comodule IoT benefit from insurance rate discounts. Riders can activate and extend their connectivity and recovery service subscription via the rider app, enhancing their security setup.
Seamless Theft Reporting and Recovery
When a theft occurs, users can report it effortlessly through the Comodule Companion app. Critical bike information, such as the frame number, model, and color, is sent to the local recovery partner. The recovery partner then coordinates the bike recovery process, potentially involving local police. In most cases, the bike is recovered and returned to the owner. If recovery is not possible, a detailed report is provided for police and insurance purposes. This service is available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France for users with an active recovery subscription via the Comodule app.
