Belgium-based start-up TAITO launched its highly-anticipated e-scooter, designed for a safe and stable riding experience. The TAITO S1 features a unique 3-wheel design and a spacious standing deck.

We’re proud to announce Comodule’s partnership with TAITO, providing connectivity for their innovative e-scooters. This collaboration is driven by shared values and mission: to advance safe and sustainable transportation. Both Comodule and TAITO aim to support responsible EU manufacturing and to create high-quality, durable, and safe electric vehicles. Comodule has seamless integration with TAITO’s e-scooter system partner Accelerated Systems Inc (ASI), making this collaboration smooth in all aspects.

A Secure and Connected E-Scooter Experience

While the TAITO S1’s design keeps riders safe and stable as they whizz about their business, adding connectivity gives riders the added peace of mind that their scooter is protected against theft when they’re not around. TAITO  S1 scooters are equipped with Comodule’s most advanced cellular IoT solution, enabling digital anti-theft features such as:

  • digital motor lock

  • GPS tracking of the scooter

  • and a  loud buzzer that activates when the scooter is moved without permission.

Connectivity also gives the Taitans access to valuable data about their ride and vehicle, such as distance traveled, speed, and range. The connectivity solution will keep evolving together with the rider’s needs, as the features can be updated via over-the-air updates.

“Comodule’s IoT enables our vision to lengthen the product’s lifecycle and have an improved user experience for our Taito S1. Thanks to over-the-air updates and remote troubleshooting of any product issues, we’re able to provide a carefree service experience for our customers,” says François Desmet, Co-Founder of TAITO.

Riders access connectivity via an app

Riders can access all connectivity features through the TAITO app, seamlessly connected to the IoT via an API connection. “The Taito S1 does not have a screen, as this is one of the components that quickly feels outdated. We, therefore, use the screen everyone has in their pocket: your smartphone connected with the TAITO app,” says François Desmet, Co-Founder of TAITO.

The TAITO custom app is designed to enhance the riding experience, providing useful features, including a dashboard that displays real-time live statistics such as speed, battery level, riding mode, and lighting. This information helps users keep track of their rides and make adjustments as needed. The app also includes a sharing option, which allows users to invite friends and family to use their TAITO S1, making it easy to share the joy of riding.

One of the standout features of the app is the Find My TAITO function. This feature enables users to locate their scooter if it has been misplaced or stolen. GPS positioning, enabled by cellular connectivity, helps riders to track their TAITO S1's location, providing an extra sense of safety.

A custom light show

The TAITO S1 delivers a truly unique light show experience. The IoT integration with TAITO's custom light board and ambient light sensor enables automatic lighting switching during night and daytime, and also custom light sequences for different scenarios.
