Co-Scooter is proven to be the most qualified and durable e-scooter on the market

Comodule launched its very own Co-Scooter this spring, to rebut the myths of e-scooters’ short lifespan, battery durability, and missing opportunities of using recycled materials. It is launched by team Comodule who has connected over 300 000 vehicles and has helped to launch fleets in over 60 cities worldwide. From the start, the team put the focus on durability, sustainability, and comfort, to ensure this e-scooter will stay on track no matter what. Now, while experiencing December minus degrees in its hometown, Tallinn, we’ve proven the quality of this e-scooter is long-lasting.

The most eco-friendly e-scooter 

Our test fleet in Estonia has saved 100 tons of CO2 since launching the service which equals the amount of oxygen 100 trees produce in their lifetime. The Co-Scooters’ lifespan is around 2 times longer than any other e-scooter in the world. For example, widely used Chinese e-scooters are cheaper to produce, but with remarkably lesser quality and more polluting. Ours is produced with 100% renewable energy without using natural resources and of 42% recycled materials We also charge the batteries with hydroelectric energy. It’s produced in Comodule’s own production site, in Tallinn, to make sure the developing and production team would keep an eye on every step of the production process. That way, we can guarantee the quality and efficiency of the vehicle.

Anti-theft protection will ensure the e-scooters’ longevity

GPS-protection enables the recovery of stolen or mistreated scooters. Since Comodule’s fleet management platform first started with its very own connected e-scooter, a bit less than 5% of the fleet scooters were thrown to the sea, river, or a lake but got recovered 100% by us. If the scooter is not recovered, it could pollute the water over a longer period of time, which is completely against our environmental principles. 

From our connected scooter fleet, around 10% in total got stolen, but only 0,4% of it were declared missing for good. The rest of the stolen scooters were recovered by our capable team. Compared to the statistics we have seen before, we can say the Co-Scooter is protected well against vandalism. The most durable even with minus 10 degrees 

As mentioned above, our Co-Scooter will last longer than other scooters on the market. It will last at least 60 months (e.g. 5 years) in heavy use. Unique battery design will ensure a driving distance of 40 km, with a maximum speed of 25  km/h. While other shared scooters’ IoT stopped responding and were unavailable for public use, our Co-Scooter was ready to ride.  The unique design of the battery will also allow the Co-Scooter to stay on the streets with up to minus 10 degrees, unharming the firmware of the vehicle what so ever.

‘Before jumping headfirst into the unknown, we wanted to make sure we could deliver what we promised. This is why we spent extra hours developing this Co-Scooter and making sure everything works as it should,’ says Kristjan Maruste, the CEO of Comodule. 

Chinese-produced scooters will never catch up environmentally...

...Unless they change their legislation of using Earth’s natural resources. Chinese-produced scooters are made for demand–quickly and with very little supervision. They’re not produced of recycled materials but of natural resources, pollute the air while produced with a major quantity of CO2, and exported out with transport using emission fuel. 

China is only here to beat Europe with mass-production. By now, it is confirmed that the number of electric bicycles in China has reached around 300 million, with annual sales of more than 30 million units in recent years, according to data from the China Bicycle Association. But it is doubtful that the durability of these vehicles will match ours, making the ‘eco-friendly vehicle’ statement counterproductive.


The longer your e-scooter lasts, the more money you make

The first e-scooters were designed for private use and not meant for riding 24/7. Now, they’ve been developed for shared fleets, but the riding experience is still pretty much the same. The ride is bumpy, the braking distance could be shorter, batteries don't last, and most of all - they need frequent maintenance. Furthermore, when a lot of the operators are offering the same model of e-scooters, a scooter with better quality helps you to stand out and differentiate you from the competition.
